  The Intensive English Language Program

The Intensive English Language Program at the University of New Orleans offers one of the most effective and diverse language programs in the United States. The IELP is designed especially for non-native English speakers who plan to study at an American university or who wish to improve their English for personal or professional reasons.  We take great care to help our students adapt to life in the United States, and we love to introduce them to the local Louisiana culture.

We currently have 82 students from 25 different countries improving their English in the IELP. Since 1995, more than 1900 students from over 120 different countries have improved their English skills in the IELP. More than 600 of those students have gone on to study and UNO and earn degrees at the University of New Orleans.

We also design special courses to meet specific needs.  If you would like to learn more about what the IELP can do for you, please email ielp@uno.edu or call 504-280-5530.
